Mens Fellowship

Annual General Meeting will be held in the Meeting Room of the Village Hall at 7.30pm on Tuesday May 10^th.  We shall be reviewing the work of the previous 12 months and planning our programme for next season which begins in September.

St Michael’s Men’s Fellowship – meets 7.30pm, 2nd Tuesday, in Hoole Village Hall.
 

St Michael’s Men’s Fellowship was founded over twenty five years ago with two main aims and objectives:-

1) To promote fellowship between the menfolk of the Parish and surrounding district.

2) To give practical help and service to both church and community.
 

With regard to the first of these aims we meet monthly on the second Tuesday of each month from September to May in the small lounge at Hoole Village Hall.

The first meeting is simply a social gathering, when subscriptions for the ensuing year are collected and the programme of events for the year explained.

The other months are usually centred around talks from a guest speaker, many of which feature topics of local interest.

During the year we are pleased to hold two joint meetings with the Church Ladies Group, one such meeting with the ladies as hosts the other being at our invitation to them.

The December meeting is invariably in the form of a Christmas meal at a local venue.

Our final meeting of the season in May is our AGM when the membership are invited to put forward suggestions for topics for the forthcoming year.

The second of our objectives requires some fund raising in order to provide financial help where it is needed.

These funds are usually raised at a filmed race night held annually in conjunction with the local branch of the charity ‘Meningitis Now’, who naturally benefit financially from this.

Also from this fundraising event in addition to supporting several other worthy causes we are able to make a contribution to the PCC towards the maintenance and upkeep of the churchyard.
